The ideal is to prepare this wax in plastic bottles cut in half lengthwise. Once your background is prepared, pass the tinted wax with a large brush, then refine your finish (cloth, brush, comb, glove ...). Always work in small areas, overlapping the previous one. Let dry two to four days depending on the temperature. You can then add a layer of varnish or simply pass a soft cloth which will give a pleasant satin finish. The wax brings out the background paint as well as the reliefs. Opt for a satin paint, and if you want a less rustic finish, work on a smooth and well prepared background. On the contrary, it may be advantageous, in particular in the base, to prepare a very worked support with plaster and spatula. The upper part will have a "wiser" finish, and you will separate the two finishes with a small frieze.

If the children run their hands full of chocolate over your beautiful tinted wax… no frenzy: clean with lukewarm soapy water, rinse, and do a large touch-up with the wax by finding the same gesture.
